About the Flag Line
Fall Season
The group adds artistry, excitement, color and movement to the half-time show.
Vermilion HS has a proud tradition of superior Flag Lines.
Winter Guard
In 2001 we became members of the Mid-East Performance Association.
MEPA hosts competitons for flag lines, color guards,
and percussion units from schools and independent
organizations through out the state of Ohio.
In our first year competing we attended 6 contests and received 6 second places.

In 2002 the group competed at 10 different contests,
each time receiving first place.
At the Final Championship in Dayton,
a score of 98.0 earned the group the honor of
"State Champion" Flag Line.

The 2003 season was our first in Scholastic Regional A:
Resulting in 3-Second place finishes, and 7-First Places!
At Championships the group received
a Silver Medal and a score of 93.1!

The 2004 season brought challenges, and a new approach. The season was filled with emotion, dedication and drive. Ray Boggs worked with the group with lots of success!
At M.E.P.A. Finals, the guard recieved the title of Circuit Champion-Scholatic Regional A. A gold medal was awarded to each member.

Welcome to the Real World! Welcome to Scholastic A!
The group starts the season in the fall of 2004 with music by Tears for Fears and by February 8th 2005...
STARTS OVER WITH A WHOLE NEW SHOW AND MUSIC!!

2006
Barry Canan and Hannah Anthony-Mathews become active members of our staff.

It was a fun year and the group grew through out the season
2007
Barry Canan continues to design our show. Shaun Segraves has an active role in writing and teach equipment work.
Hannah continues to work with the group in the area of movement as well as
designing our costuming again. Pat Altman starts working with us in mid-February.

Sailorway Middle School
The Middle School has a Flag Line and Winter Guard.
In 2005 the Winter Guard competed for the first time. Previously, Sailorway performed in "Exhibition" only.
